WilliamMarr,aChinese-AmericanpoetandrecipientofaPhDdegreeinnuclearengineeringfromUniversityofWisconsin,hadengagedinenergyandenvironmentalsystemsresearchformanyyearsbeforehisretirement.Hehaspublishedatotalofover30booksofpoetry,essaysandtranslationsinhisnativeChineselanguage,andseveralEnglish,bilingual(Chinese/English),andmultilingual(Chinese/EnglishwithFrenchandItaliantranslations)poetryanthologies.HeisaformerpresidentoftheIllinoisStatePoetrySocietyandtheholderoftwolifetimeachievementawards,includingonefromtheMarquisWhosWhoPublicationsBoard.In,hewasawardedthe60thLiteraryAwardfromTaiwansChineseLiteratureandArtAssociation.Inrecentyears,hehasalsoengagedinpaintingandsculptingandhasheldseveralartexhibitionsinAmericaandChina.
